The Construction is complete, onto the finish. From what I read the finish will take about 3 days to apply and dry.
So far the construction has not been that bad for a first attempt. It took me 2 hours to cut the 4x8 sheet of wood, router the connecting edges, sand the 2 pieces, drill and set in screws, and add padding to the bottom. If it all works out, I should have a dancable prototype by this weekend. If the prototype works out then there will more pieces in the future. From there who knows, I may actually take orders.
A quick backround. After coming back from the ALHC, I got an idea to build a portable dance floor like the one in the ballroom. After a bit of research, I put together a set of plans, and started to build. If it works out then I will have an economical way to have a dance floor for little $ and have it portable so you can place it over carpet when you wand to practice.

Then I should not tell you......ITS FINISHED! I found out what made the floor at ALHC so slick, and used it on mine. Unfortunately its a little noisy when you shuffle your feet, but not any more then Brennans. The funny part was that I got a small running start and managed to slide across the whole floor without really slowing up to any extent. Rua and I will by testing it tonight, and will post the results tomorrow!
