Okay, instead of typing out all of the info on the performance this weekend I'll just post the link: www.historychannel.com/intrepid/?page=eventsWe are doing 6 routines that take place sometime during the posted hours, we're not sure exactly when. The dancing should be about a 30 minute block total. the show airs primetime on the History channel at 9:23 (?!? that's what it says) but I won't even be home to watch myself on TV cause of the Swing Shift!!! I can't get any comp tickets so admission is the standard rate for the museum ($16.50 adults/$12.50 students/veterans).

It's some hardcore stuff I have to say. I am humbled to be working next to some of the top instructors/dancers in the area but happy to report that I'm holding my own and pulling my weight in the group.
Being a street dancer (having learned almost exclusively "on the spot" with no formal training) it's that much more challenging to work in a studio setting but my dancing/styling is improving by leaps and bounds. I have to say one of the best things about this gig is that it has given me a second wind and revitalized my interest in dancing.
Just to give you an idea of what's going on, we're each dancing 4 out of 6 routines. Most of the choreography comes straight out of original footage from the 30's/40's. The 4 I'm in include a Hollywood style routine to "In the Mood" (not our music selections), the Dean Collins Shim Sham w/Balboa interlude to "Opus One", the Jitterbug Stroll w/Collegiate Shag interlude to "Woodchopper's Ball", and a Harlem Savoy routine w/Charleston Line intro to "Jumpin' at the Woodside" (full speed). The other two that I'm not in are the Keep Punchin' Big Apple to "Sing Sing Sing" and a Chad/Midori Peabody solo to "My Blue Heaven". I don't think there was a style missed in this entire show!!!
